Say Hello to your New BFF:
The Food Diary
Your compassionate companion to help you get to the bottom
of what’s actually going on when you feel disconnected from food and your body

Your life shouldn’t be controlled by food.
And yet...
You worry about what you’re going to eat from the second you wake up, until the moment you fall asleep.
Your mood and self-worth is determined by the scale and what you see in the mirror.
You're an emotional eater, constantly overeating those "bad" foods or skipping meals completely.
But you don’t want to go on like this anymore.
Something has to change. You’re done struggling with food and your body.
You want to create a nourishing relationship with food and learn to love every inch of your beautiful self, but where do you even start?
  •  Diets haven’t worked...not only do you feel like you’re failing all the time, but the changes are superficial and temporary.
  •   Trying to change things on your own hasn’t happened...that negative voice always brings you down the moment you look at yourself in the mirror
  •   You’ve lost all sense of hunger cues...when are you hungry? When are you full? When are you actually just stressed or sad?
  •   The health and wellness communities you are turning to for guidance are giving you nothing but (loud) conflicting information (I mean, is coconut oil “good” or “bad for you?!)
  •   You’ve completely lost any intuitive wisdom of what works and doesn’t work for your unique body. Food is the enemy and you can’t trust it anymore.
Sister, I hear you.

But I have a solution that will help you heal your relationship with food and help you reconnect (and love!) your sexy, soulful body.

Say Hello to your New BFF:
The Food Diary!
And no, this isn’t your typical food diary where you simply track what you’re eating and how much…
it’s a diary to help you record the experience you’re having with food and WHY you’re behaving that way.

Think of the Food Diary as a compassionate companion to help you get to the bottom
of what’s actually going on when you feel disconnected from food and your body.

It will allow you to investigate in places you may not have explored quite yet.
It will bring awareness, mindfulness and consciousness to your relationship with food and your body.

With the help of this incredible Food Diary, you'll be able to:
  •  Record the experience you’re having surrounding food
  •  Learn awareness and consciousness around your food habits
  •  Understand your emotional experience with food, so you’re not using it as a coping mechanism
  •  Discover what foods nourish and fuel your body, so you can feel at your best
  •  Re-learn your body’s hunger cues, so you can be confident as to when you are hungry AND when you’re satisfied
  •  Eat what you want to eat, not what you think you should eat
I want you to rip off the bandaid solution that is dieting.
I want you to heal the root cause of the problem.
I want you to fill up on self-love, not food.
But who the heck am I to talk about your relationship with food?
Hey! I’m Sairah Pettes, a Body Positive, Intuitive Eating Coach and the founder of TurnuptheLove.ca

And I help women to stop the diet-cycle by teaching them to throw out their scales, eat intuitively, reconnect with their body and let go of “perfectionitis.”

In other words, I’m passionate about introducing women to a world without dieting.

For many years, I was unhappy and resentful of my body. Feeding her pre-packaged foods, ignoring her needs and wants and controlling her every move. I was obsessed with the scale. I didn’t care about being healthy, I cared about “looking good.”

But during a 5-month trip abroad, I finally reconnected with my body. I began to listen to her. To trust her and to nourish, value and respect her wisdom. I finally understood what it meant to truly love your body.
But enough about me, let’s dive into a few more details...
    The Food Diary
is a 2-week intuitive eating journal, where you will be able to
identify, track and record how you are feeling before, during and after a meal.
I’ve included space for your three main meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), as well as a few snacks throughout the day.
There’s also a section after days 4, 8 and 12 to reflect on what you’ve been uncovering while using the Food Diary.

In other words, the Food Diary is THE most important tool you’ll use to help you recover from disconnected eating.

    Just Imagine:
    Trusting food again.
Reintroducing “forbidden foods” into your diet that you haven’t allowed yourself to eat in yyy-ears. Understanding what you need to do to move forward and heal
your relationship with food and your body.
And the benefits of healing don’t stop there…
think about how you can finally enjoy going out to eat with friends, having dinner with your family and savoring every spoonful of ice cream with your loved one on movie night.

“I now know my triggers and try to focus on the positive side of eating and nurturing my body. I discovered that I’m terribly afraid of every meal and that I always distract myself by watching TV while I was eating. The Food Diary will help you discover your thoughts and limiting beliefs concerning food and find balance.”

“I now think about food in a bit of a different way - food is nourishment, for health, for longevity, for healing, and sometimes just for pleasure. I am more mindful about food, and take the time to think through why I am eating before I eat.”
